Often referred to as the Eastern Gateway of Rajasthan, Bharatpur is home to one of the most visited places in India, the Keoladeo National Park. Also known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park or Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, this national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site spread over 29 kilometers. It consists of over 312 species of diverse fauna that comprise birds, fish, amphibians, snakes, lizards, turtles and other invertebrates, and over 379 floral species.

Although the Keoladeo National park is a treat for visitors all year round, the perfect time to visit this place would be between October and February. Bharatpur offers a plethora of options to stay. Perhaps it is the topmost wildlife sanctuary when it comes to offering range of accommodation in its close vicinity.

This guest house is perfect for solo travelers with shoestring budget. It offers bicycles and binoculars for hire and has 6 basic rooms.

If you would like to enjoy the early morning chirping of birds in the park, you can rent a room in the government-operated Shanti Kutir. With sixteen rooms, it is the only one located inside the sanctuary. The nearby Circuit House, Dak Bunglow, and Park Palace are also good for a comfortable stay. Some other popular options are the Wilderness Camp, Sunbird, Pelican, etc.

To make the trip to Bharatpur even more convenient for the visitors, Rajasthan Tourism also runs a hotel on the Jaipur-Agra road.
